In an uncertain world, full of the unexpected, with an overwhelmed brain we may reach for control to feel better and more stable: Control of our routine, our clothes, our interactions, the sharing of thoughts and feelings and our activities and cling on to the belief that this is what creates certainty and keeps us safe.
The paradox is that the more we try to control life and outcomes, the more we become prisoners of this belief which increases our fears, our worries, our inability to handle change and our relationship to flexibility and a balanced life.
Control is a fallacy.
Coping in an uncertain world isn't about control but about acceptance.
