We may deem someone who sees the glass as half empty as a pessimist and those who see it as half full as optimistic. I'd argue that it's not about that.
In fact, it's a pointless observation.
The question should be: The glass is currently neither full or empty and it's an ideal opportunity to make a choice: Do you want to drink up and move on or refill it?
Maybe the amount in the glass is an important signal that something is coming to an end and that's good or maybe it's a sign that you want more and should fill your glass back up.
It's an assessment of options, not of your character.
