Regrets can feel overwhelming, overpowering. They can consume us. They can paralyse us: I won't make another decision in case I regret it - again!
What if we flipped the narrative?
Do you know what leads to regrets? Choices!
If you have regrets that means you lived a life with multiple choices.
Do you know what regrets do? They make you re-think your choices.
I can hardly think of a better, or stronger, internal response to alert you to making different choices going forward to reduce regets. What an awsome compass to inspire new actions!
The older you get, the fewer regrets you'll encounter. That's because you have less choices available to you. That means that your youthful regrets were based on, again, privileged choices. How lucky you were! Try and appreciate that.
Just like growing old is a privilege denied many. Enjoy the ride!
