We ignore truth for temporary happiness...
Read that again.
How often do we look the other way to keep the peace, to make it work, to not rock the boat, to not face a hard decision because, in that moment, it feels like it's the easier way and it'll preserve some form of happiness? For now anyway.
But the longer we ignore the truth, the harder it hits when it can no longer be suppressed.
Dealing with the truth does not equate to unhappiness - it just means doing something difficult now for longer-term peace.
