We all know the phrase 'it's not you, it's me' and usually that's said in the context of being dumped.
And you know what, even if they don't mean it and they're only saying it to be nice, it's probably very true.
But what we need to learn to say when faced with drama, or aggressive behaviour or rude people, instead of taking it personally, is to say: 'Listen, this isn't about me, it's about you' - because it always is.
When someone is being unkind, it's their unresolved issues being projected onto you and it's your job to not accept this projection, not buy into it, not let their mood become your mood and say: 'Hey, I'm sorry for whatever is going on for you but this isn't about me, it's about you' and walk away from their drama and pain projection.
