Below poem perfectly captures the ethos of my mantra 'follow the joy' and why it's so important to wake up and assess your choices and how you choose to live your life.
So many years can be wasted on compromises and decisions based on fears rather than a belief that we could be happier by demanding more and better for ourselves. And not necessarily demanding it from others but from ourselves - by how we choose to show up and who we choose to allow with us on that ride.
She realized she had this one.
This big, bold,
and beautiful life.
And she realized she didn’t want to live it
chasing and crying and apologizing.
Starving and fearing and regretting.
She wanted to live it
Proudly and freely and creatively.
Lovingly and fully and sweetly.
She could choose.
And so, she chose.
