We have this one precious life and yet we've been given no handbook on how to live it well.
We seek pleasure and moments of enjoyment and numb ourselves with food, shopping and TV.
I wonder how often we live a life geared towards killing time until it's all over, compared to creating something meaningful, something bigger than ourselves, something that has purpose.
We celebrate and honour those with fancy degrees and money - yet, what have they achieved?
And we ignore the parents who gave up so much of their individual selves and their freedoms to ensure the survival and happiness of another being - creating memories that will last beyond their own lifetime.
